Walled In

So here’s where things ended last week.  That much hated orange red is almost gone!imageMore sheet rock up this week, mudding sheet rock, nail holes and gaps caulked in the ceiling, mudding sheetrock, sheet rock primed and even most of it has a coat of paint!  Then the corner will be mudded!imageIt’s called Gateway Grey from Sherwin Williams, but we bought Valspar from Lowe’s.  It covered so well, we just kept going down the wall to the other corner into what will be the den. image It’s amazing what sheetrock and paint will do – we are so motivated at this point feeling like we’re almost there (even though we aren’t!)

What's amazing is how much work you guys have gotten done! It looks fantastic. Is the Valspar the new paint and primer combo? Looks very nice.

Thanks Theresa. We said we worked and worked and somtimes felt like nothing was happening - but then the sheetrock and paint was a sudden boom! We did prime before the Valspar - as far as I know it's simple an interior paint, but it covered better than the primer did. We'll put a second coat on, but ot's nearly perfect already.

Amazing, so much done but so much left to do - but do tell, what are you doing for a kitchen in the meantime? K.

Weel, this is how it goes - down in the new den, the fridge and the microwave are still plugged in. The microwave also converts into a conventional oven. So we can heat something up, toast it, or even bake. With a side salad that works very well. There is a plastic bin that houses the essentials of utensils, plates and cups. Then for water - we head back to the bathroom. With the dust from mudding this week, we ordered out and didn't worry about it!
