NZD 12102009

This began as a succulent that I enjoyed regularity of the "petal" pattern.  I cropped it to allow the center to be offcenter, but somehow I could not leave well enough alone.  Did I go too far???  Here I have played with saturation, sharpness, shadows.  I now also like the stronger differences in the values and the pop of the edges of the petals.  I only wish there was more definition at the very center - but those petals likely have not developed the red tips yet.

This looks like the same kind of succulent I wove in my Emergence tapestry!

Kathy - I'm sure they are related, but the succulent that I found was nearly a foot across!
