Iris

I love the combination of cool colors – green, blue, purple – with the highlight of yellow.  I love the depth of the shadows.  I love the texture of the leaves that almost give it a hardness like something permanent made out of stone.image

I am weaving the iris on my tapestry now, so enjoy this other view of one. I'm amazed as I weave at how much dark there is in an iris. Lots of almost black-purples... very rich, but hard to find the right yarn combinations for to keep it purple and not a black hole!

I can imagine finging the colors is an issue and where does the blending end and a new color stand out. The bloes in the veins of the upturned petal seem rather defined, then theres the yellow streaks that are almost white. I'm sure you will do a wonderful job with your weaving!
